Sydney Jones

7th Summer

My name is Sydney and this year will be my 7th summer at Chippewa. I am from Highland Park, IL and am currently a sophomore at Highland Park High School. Outside of camp, I like to run, read, and play soccer on the high school team. One thing not a lot of people know about me is I have two freckles in my left eye.

This summer at camp, I will be teaching running, sailing, and cooking. I like teaching these activities because I love to stay active while I am at camp, be by the waterfront, and bake all kinds of delicious food. My favorite camp meal is Sunday Breakfast and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is Pirate’s Booty. Capture the Flag is my favorite Evening Program because although it is very competitive, it is such an exhilarating feeling to run through camp with the flag in your hand and your teammates cheering for you. I love being a Chippy because not only is the place so special, but so are the people. At camp, I have met some of my best friends and formed bonds with people that I know will last forever. I am most excited for the summer of 2025 because I can’t wait to see what it’s like to have campers of my own, while also being in charge of Tan & White!
