Sophie “Barbs” Barber

10th Summer!

My name is Sophie but people at camp call me Barbs. This year will be my 10th summer at Chippewa!!!! I am from Los Angeles, CA and am currently a junior at de Toledo High School. Outside of camp, I like to play sports. One thing not a lot of people know about me is that I collect snowglobes wherever I travel!

This summer at camp, I will be teaching waterskiing and sailing. I like teaching these activities because I want to share my love for the waterfront by watching campers grow throughout the summer. My favorite camp meal is BBQ and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is Cake and Ice Cream. Tan & White is my favorite Evening Program because I love the competitive spirit and playing in all of the fun games. I love being a Chippy because I can always be myself and I am surrounded by all my best friends. I am most excited for the summer of 2026 because I get back to the best place in the world!
