My name is Samantha, but people at camp call me Sam. This year will be my 8th summer at Chippewa. I am from the city of Chicago and am currently a sophomore at Francis W. Parker. Outside of camp, I am involved with Model UN and my school’s newspaper. I am also involved in some of my school’s sports teams like field hockey, softball, and tennis. Although I may not be the best at these, I love to play them and build new relationships. Maybe even get some practice in for Tan and White, too ;). I usually spend my free time going on walks or runs, baking with my friends, watching Grey’s Anatomy with my sister, and dreaming about Chippewa. One thing not a lot of people know about me is I like to dip the majority of my foods at camp in sweet chili sauce!
This summer at camp, I will be teaching sailing, paddle boarding, and swimming. I like teaching these activities because the lake is my favorite place at camp and they are all great opportunities to make lifelong memories. My favorite camp meal is chicken fingers, and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is raspberry sorbet (Lol, I am dairy free). Tan and White is my favorite Evening Program because it is so fun and competitive, and I cannot wait to lead it this summer! I love being a Chippy because I have had the opportunity to meet my best friends at the most special place, and I truly feel like I can call Chippewa my home. I am most excited for the summer of 2021 because I can’t wait to be a CIT, and to finally be home!! Camp is my favorite place ever, and I am coming down the days until I arrive to County O!!
