Maya Fern

9th Summer

My name is Maya and this year will be my 9th summer at Chippewa. I am from Deerfield, IL and am currently a senior at Deerfield High School. Outside of camp, I like to dance! One thing not a lot of people know about me is I didn’t go 8 weeks to camp until my last year as a camper.

This summer at camp, I will be teaching yoga, fitness and running. I like teaching these activities because I get to participate in them at the same time as teaching them. My favorite camp meal is chicken fingers and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is Cake and Ice Cream. Lip Sync is my favorite Evening Program because I looove to make up dances (and win!). I love being a Chippy because camp is my happy place and I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather spend my summers. I am most excited for the summer of 2026 because the summer of 2025 was unbelievable and this year is going to be even better!!
