9th Summer

My name is Leah and this year will be my 9th summer at Chippewa. I am from Deerfield, IL and am currently a Senior at Deerfield High School! Outside of camp, I play field hockey and love to hang out with my friends. One thing not a lot of people know about me is I’ve been in Copper Stripes 4 times (that’s half of my summers at camp)!!!

This summer at camp, I will be teaching swimming, waterskiing, and fishing. I like teaching these activities because I love being in the lake and helping campers have so much fun! My favorite camp meal is paninis and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is French Silk Pie. Songfest is my favorite Evening Program because it’s so impressive to see everyone’s hard work come to life! I love being a Chippy because it’s helped me find my closest friends and given me a community where I can truly be my most authentic self. I am most excited for the summer of 2026 because I can’t wait to be back at my favorite place with all of my campers and friends!
