Ella Engelman

9th Summer

My name is Ella and this year will be my 9th summer at Chippewa. I am from Highland Park, IL and am currently a senior at Highland Park High School. Outside of camp, I like to play pickle ball and am an intern at a local nonprofit. One thing not a lot of people know about me is that I love to ski (water and snow)!

This summer at camp, I will be teaching SUP, sailing, and running. I like teaching these activities because they allow me to spend time in various parts of camp with different people. My favorite camp meal is chicken nuggets and fries, and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is French Silk Pie. Realm Selection Night is my favorite Evening Program because I love how enthusiastic everyone gets! I love being a Chippy because I get to spend 8 weeks away from reality and form friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds. I am most excited for the summer of 2026 because I get to reunite with my friends and campers that I do not see during the school year!
