My name is Eden and this year will be my 9th summer at Chippewa. I am from Deerfield, IL and am currently a senior at Deerfield High School. Outside of camp, I play field hockey and I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have a dog named Oliver who I love cuddling and playing with. I am also a part of the Warrrior Buddies club at my high school and take on the role of fundraising chair, and I am president of the Vision For Tomorrow Board which has positively impacted my life in the fight to raise awareness for those who fight albinism and low-vision. I also work at Rosebud and Just Between Friends, both in Deerfield Square. As you can tell, I love working with people and being active/busy. One thing not a lot of people know about me is that I was born five hours before leap year!
This summer at camp, I will be teaching waterskiing. I like teaching this activity because in my 8 years at Chippewa I have been a waterbug and am and still crazy about skiing. This is an activity that never fails to make me smile and being on the water at my favorite place is irreplaceable. I am so excited to continue to help kids love this activity like me and learn new skills! My favorite camp meal is BBQ and my favorite Cathy’s flavor is Jolted Cow. Tan & White is my favorite Evening Program because I love being a part of a team and last year as I took on the role of White team Advisor, I was able to “re-live” the CIT summer that I never had. The bonds, fun, and intensity of Tan & White truly makes camp as special as it is. I love being a Chippy because I wouldn’t want to spend my summers anywhere else and Chippewa gave me my best friends who I can be myself around and who make me happiest. This place is forever!! I am most excited for the summer of 2022 because I can’t wait to spend another summer with my campers and cos and I am counting down the days until I am at my happy place, living every moment to the fullest.
