Cara Jones

6th Summer

My name is Cara and this will be my 6th amazing year at camp! Way back in 2017, I recieved an offer through my Camp America application from Chippewa Ranch Camp for girls. Who knew back then that one simple yes would have led me to this moment, looking ahead to yet another incedible year at my little secret slice of heaven that sits next to Dam Lake. I come from Bristol in the UK but work and live in Marlborough, Wiltshire where I am currently working as a teacher and field hockey specialist. Outside of work, I love to play sports, see my friends and travel the world.

I am so excited to be back at my home away from home this summer, to see my campers, catch up with my friends and to be part of the incredible team that work so hard to make Chippewa what it is. I am excited to take up my new role on the waterfront and to follow in the footsteps of those who have developed and maintained such a fundermental aspect of the camp experience. I look forward to seeing camp from the shimmering surface of the lake once again. My favourite meal at camp is obviously BBQ because who doesnt like sitting in the sun, enjoying the delicous fresh cooking from the kitchen team and reminicing about the fun we have shared that day. When you catch me in Cathy’s, you will find me with large scoop of Pirate’s Booty while I get myself excited for Capture the Flag (my favourite Evening Activity!). I love being a Chippy because camp has been such a pivotal part of my life. We all say it’s where young girls are shaped but for me it has done exactly the same and I cannot wait to share that experience with everyone again!
