The Sari Diaries- Monday 8/3/26

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

I want to apologize because I accidentally lied to you all last night when I promised a podcast today. I am planning to make it up in some way shape or form…just not exactly sure of the plan quite yet. Due to the fact that you are all either my friends, friends of my friends and/or parents of campers that I love, I am hoping you will forgive my faux pas.

Anyways, today was busy and crazy and amazing and happy and sad! We are feeling it all right now, and with all those feels comes a short TSD post tonight. Here’s the shortened dealio from our day…

Our Day at CRC
-Morning Wake-up!
-Breakfast- Scrambled Eggs, French Toast Sticks & Turkey Sausage Links
-Cabin Clean-Up
-Morning Activities- 1st & 2nd Period A-Day rocked!
-Picnic Lunch!
-Miss Rodeo- One of Chippewa’s oldest traditions did not disappoint! Sydney B (Trailriders), Cassidy A (Lucky-X), Stella B (Blackfoot) and Maeve B (Silverspurs) put on an incredible show for the entire camp. These four have been working so very hard with Lucy & Charlie out at the stables to prepare for this day. And their effort paid off- it was really something to see. One of the best parts was that the campers from Blackfoot & Silverspurs made signs to support Maeve and Stella- so sweet. The entire camp gathers at the stables once per summer, and each time it is special…horseback riding is part of what our camp was built upon, and to have every member of our community out there to support our most committed riders feels good. Congratulations to all four Miss Rodeo participants- we are so very proud of you!
-Afternoon Activity- We squeezed in 5th Period A-Day, and it was lovely!
-Dinner- Chicken Parmesan & Cupcakes from Ruth’s 20 Year Celebration!
-Staff Show- The closing staff show was entertaining and hilarious…our staff have a lot of talent and a lot of enthusiasm for being silly ons stage. The campers loved it! We concluded the night on a more somber note- we sang “Today Is” followed by “All My Life’s A Circle,” “One Tin Soldier” and “Jet Plane.” As the camp sang together, there were quiet tears, lots of hugs and a few moments of taking it in. Tonight kicks off what feels like the end…while there is ceratainly still plenty of camping left, campers and staff alike are beginning to feel all the feels…we are continuing to appreciate each moment that we have here and that we have together at #TheRanch2026!

A few quick Water Ski Achievements:
-Madelyn G (Copper Stripes) lifted a ski for ten seconds!
-Mia L (Circle C) lifted a ski for ten seconds!
-Amelia R got up and around Dam Lake on one ski!
-Sloane K (Wagon Ridge) lifted a ski for ten seconds!
-Skylar M (Wagon Ridge) lost a tooth on the ski boat today!
-Noa G (Wagon Ridge) became a Chippy Bat today…congratulations, Noa!

I once again apologize for the lack of a podcast this evening. And I double apologize for the shorter entry tonight. That being said, I am trying to practice what I preach a bit- dig into the people here and what we are doing…hanging out with campers & staff…this is the time. I think at this point, it is safe to say things around here feel exciting and and sad…there is legit still plenty of camping left- so very much to look forward to. At the same time, it is hard not to feel Thursdsay looming over us…the real world is beginning to knock on our door, but at least for now, we will continue living in our little Chippewa bubble soaking it all in- growing, learning, enjoying and being our best selves!
