The Sari Diaries- Monday 7/20/26

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We had a truly wonderful day here at #TheRanch2026 and I am ecstatic to tell you all about it. Here it goes…

Chippy Birthday Celebrations -Lily B from Timber Walk’s 20th Birthday!

Our Day at CRC
-Morning Wake-Up with a Seven Wonders Quiz!
-Breakfast- Waffles, Scrambled Eggs & Turkey Bacon.
-Cabin Clean-Up- Congrats to Horseshoe Range for their perfect score!
-1st & 2nd Period Activities- We rocked it out all across camp!
-Lunch- Picnic Lunch.
-Chippewa Regatta- Camps Agawak and Kawaga joined the Chippy Sailing Team in our annual regatta. Everybody had an absolute blast!
-3rd, 4th & 5th Period Activities- Yes, it is true…we officially had our first full day of activities in second session. The afternoon was just as exciting as the morning…achievements, fun and laughter were plentiful!
-Dinner- Quinoa Bowls!
-Tom Pease- Tonight was fantastical…I have so much to say about Tom Pease, but for now I will let you know that Tom has been performing at CRC for 40 years…we love to sing to his songs, dance along and enjoy an incredible evening of fun!

Activity Achievements
-Skylar M crossed the wakes on two skis!

Everything Matters Moments
-This afternoon Noa C & Sloane B (A-Frame) came into the office to show me something very important. Each summer, I have a move that I do at the end of my P-Dance and this summer it is the “Hit It.” Noa and Sloane have been practicing this move and needed to show me. They worked with Noa G (counselor in Wagon Ridge) to perfect it and they even gave me some pointers, which I used this evening. It was pretty cute!
-Today we/I had two Chippy Alumni Visitors, Megan W (sister of Summer Weitzman and cousin of me) & Rachel Hirsch (my sister!). It was so nice to have them around camp- living up the Chippy life. Because they only have a day at camp, they are taking advantage of every moment- meeting new campers, swimming in Dam Lake and even skiing. I love having family at camp, and having the two of them here today was special!
-Tonight the Tom Pease show was epic. There are a million reasons why it was meaningful and just the best. First of all, our older campers are simply outstanding humans. Ivy S and Dylan C from Trailriders found a new camper who was sitting watching the show, and asked her, “Do you want to dance with us?” This camper immediately had a huge smile on her face and jumped up. They proceeded to help her dive into the Tom Pease fun. Something cool about Tom Pease is that while he always brings us new songs that we love, he has his old-school Chippy songs that he currently only plays at on these grounds. We had “Pancakes,” “Wobbi Do Wop,” “We Come from the Mountains” and “Belly Button” that Chippies went wild for. As I was singing and dancing along with campers, counselors, and Tom I couldn’t help but be thrown back to the 90s when some of these campers’ moms were around the circle singing the same exact songs with the same exact enthusiasm…what a world! Tom ended the night with “Eight Hugs a Day.” This song is so important and he had the whole camp hugging, singing and being free. Yes, we have eight year-olds here but we also have fifteen year-olds and counselors here who all engage in this children’s singer as if he is a rock star. And he is a rock start in our little world!

Thank you all for reading. I could not be happier to be reporting the events of our day…nothing about the weather, nothing about the air quality…just camp stuff. We are sooooo fortunate to be here at 8258 County O. Talk to y’all soon!
