Dear 2026 Ten Year Girls,
Thank you for your service and your friendship too. I mean it- thank you from the bottom of our hearts- from the bottom of the collective Chippewa heart. The nine of you are so incredibly special to the CRC community and we are so very grateful to have had 90 years of Chippewa with the nine of you unique, strong and compassionate humans.
Today was your day, and I hope you all had the experience that you certainly deserve- a day filled with being showered with love & appreciation. Your dedication and commitment to 8258 County O has made this place and the people here better…your energy, your care and your sharing of your love for CRC and one another has made Chippewa a happy home for so many Chippies over the last ten years. So no doubt, you have earned a day of skiing, climbing, riding and re-living your camper careers. From my perspective, it looked like you were living your best lives. I saw your seven, eight and nine year old selves today…uninhibited and joyful while leaning into all the Chippewa-ness you could absorb.
I feel incredibly fortunate to know every single one of you. And not just to know you as the 17, 18 and 19 year-olds you are, but to have seen you grow from 2016 (and some earlier) to today. In your own ways, you have each shined, succeeded, been challenged, learned life lessons, accomplished amazing feats and truly made a positive impact on so many individual human beings including myself. I am lucky that you are all a part of my personal Chippewa experience and I thank you.
Avery, Annie, Hope, Julia, Mia, Sam, Cayla, Lily and Sophie you are amazing human beings who serve as extraordinary counselors and role models here in Chippyland. Thank you for being here and for being your real authentic selves in this place where being you is exactly what we need.
My wish for you as you continue your Chippewa & life experience is that you always remember today- the way you felt, the way you were treated and the place you were mentally, physically & emotionally. May you channel today and who you have become over the past ten summers into everything you do going forward. Be it inside the CRC confines or not- be you, do you and know that you are worth every single accolade you got today. Continue on your journeys knowing that Chippewa is within you, and behind you, and here for you…always.
Thank you, Ten Year Girls…Happy Ten Year and here is to at least ten more…we love you!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
