Everything Matters Moments
-This morning I had the privilege of heading to Bond Falls to pick up Lucky-X, Circle C and Wagon Ridge from their camping trip. We did a small hike to see the actual falls and they were beautiful. While campers sometimes love camping trips and sometimes come back with fun stories (and sometimes both), every single camper on this trip was impressed with the breathtaking view they got to take in this morning. The comments went from, “Are we almost there?” and “How much longer?” to “This is so cool!” and “Woah that is amazing!” As tripper Evelyn pointed out to me on the ride back, every single camper had moments on this trip that she loved. We aren’t the most intense trip camp but when you break down what our campers experience on each trip, it is easy to recognize that there is a positive impact that these camping trips have on our campers and on the bond between them. I was thrilled to be a small part of this trip…just a small window into the little moments that matter!

-During fifth period this afternoon, I was the flag football coach- how lucky am I?! The class was comprised of Rafter campers all the way through Lakeview campers. Hayden G (Rafter^X) held her own even with Maya G & Evah R (Lakeview). We started the activity with a warm-up, moved into some drills and then we had a pretty intense scrimmage. Shout-out to Emmy L (Timber Walk) who caught a long pass for a touchdown with tight defense from Naomi M (Horseshoe). We ended the activity with a game of Ring of Fire which brought a lot of laughs. Special mention to Molly D & Mackenzie B (Blackfoot) and Sydney Z (Horseshoe) who were all very impressive…with both their skills and positive energy!
-To cap off the evening I spent some time in the cabin of Boots & Saddles…what a joy they are! They showed me their squishy collection, asked a lot of Chippewa history questions and shared the details of the books they are currently reading (specifically Zoey Y, Joyelle H & Lincoln Z are very into their current books). I heard stories from their summer that made me laugh and I really got to learn what their camp experience has been like thus far at CRC in 2026. It was a fantastic way to end a truly wonderful day. It’s not every day that I get so much quality camper time, and today was a reminder of just how nice it is to just be with these kids…I get why they love to just be with one another…it’s quite a community we’ve got!

That’s a wrap from 8258 County O…another amazing day in the books and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring! Thanks for reading- have a lovely evening!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
