Everything Matters Moments
-SUP instructors, Leah Rosenthal and Lucy Wurster were pumped to tell me all about their Simon Says Yoga game today on the lake. While I didn’t get to see it with my own eyes, they described a very sweet scene on Dam Lake where campers paddled out, gathered in a circle on their boards and played the game without containing their giggles. The two counselors were so excited that the campers were so into it.
-Today in Arts & Crafts campers decorated journals that are intended to keep their thoughts from their summer at CRC. Hayden G (Rafter^X), Hazel H (Rafter^X), Lilah D (Rafter^X) and Scarlett R (Rafter^X) created the cutest little notebooks that I really hope they utilize this summer. Arts & Crafts instructor, Mirren, explained to the group how cool it will be to look back and read their notes from their very first Chippy summers…while I am not 100% sure they will use these, I absolutely love the idea.
-After lunch we had White Cap try-outs- our top swimming level. It was very sweet to watch Evah R, Alina S, Molly D and Stella B pump each other up…they were all super-excited and ready for the challenge. It was quite a display of strong girls building up other strong girls!
-I had an interesting visit from the Rafter^X campers before dinner…they appeared in my office with a giant rock with a request for me to paint it for them. While a bit confused for sure, I let them know that we could work together to create a masterpiece in the next week or so. Stay tuned for the final product…I’m sure it will be something special. This group of youngest campers is just so into camp. They make their own fun wherever they go and they have embraced the Chippewa culture of being their most authentic (and oftentimes silly) selves!

I finally kept this one short and sweet but please don’t mistake that for this day being anything short of extraordinary! Thanks for reading- get excited for our first podcast of the summer tomorrow!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
