Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,
Week two is off to a very Chippical and happy start here at CRC! Here’s how it went…
6/22/26 Chippy Birthdays!
-Jordan S from Timber Walk’s 12th Birthday
-Tatum R from Lucky-X’s 10th Birthday
-Annie Shulkin from Boots’s 17th Birthday
Our Day at CRC
-Morning wake-up!
-Breakfast- Scrambled Eggs, Waffles & Turkey Bacon
-Trailriders departed for Mackinac Island. They are already having an amazing time on this legendary trip that always serves as a fantastic bonding experience for the age group. They will spend two nights camping and living the good life in Mackinac!
-1st & 2nd Period Activities- The sun was shining down on Dam Lake and campers were loving their A-Day activities!
-Lucky-X, Circle C and Wagon Ridge departed for Bond Falls. The tri cabin, as these three cabins are known, are currently experiencing the beauty of Bond Falls- they are hiking, eating delicious s’mores and camping out in their tents under the starts. They will be back tomorrow morning to jump right back into camp life.
-Lunch- Picnic Lunch
-3rd, 4th & 5th Period Activities!
-Dinner- Quinoa Bowls with grilled & breaded chicken
-Canteen!
-Pirate Night with a twist! Pirate Night is a Chippy favorite as far as evening programs go and Program Director, Mia Barnett, elevated this program to a new level. The pirates arrived by boat and the games began. Cabins followed a scavenger hunt, collected flags and “dueled” the pirates to earn points. It was high energy and so much fun. The cabin of Bowed Legs won big tonight but everybody enjoyed the evening, which eneded with the pirates jumping in the lake while the whole camp chanted, “Pirates in the Lake!”

-Noa C (Cactus) got up and around the lake on one ski AND crossed the wakes on one ski!

Everything Matters Moments
-This morning before the camping trips left I was reminded of just how sweet this community is. This happens each year but honestly, I had forgotten this little bit of Chippy connection. As each of the trips that departed today loaded the vans, campers from other cabins “needed” to come to the Top of the Hill to send them off, give them hugs and wish them an awesome trip. The one and two night trips that these cabins are going on are quick, but the genuine “I’m going to miss you’s” that I witnessed made it clear that each moment together at 8258 County O matters. These campers really do adore one another and love spending time together!
-After first period I saw Sutton G walking from skiing back to her cabin. She was so excited to let me know that her injury from last week was healing well and that she was even able to water ski. Her excitement that she could officially fully participate in everything camp has to offer warmed my heart…the smile on this kid and the enthusiasm emanating from her (both in her words and body language) was joyful…every minute here and every activity here and every opportunity here matters to her…so cool!
-This afternoon I had to stop by the HNS (House Neck Store, where I reside in the summertime) to grab something. The HNS backyard also happens to be the home of Outdoor Cooking. As I was heading back to the office, I paused quietly to observe the scene. There were two twelve year-old campers, Alina S and Jordan S from Timber Walk, along with two nine-year-old campers, Aria H and Stella B from Blackfoot. I watched as these older campers, who really aren’t so old, assisted the younger campers through the whole process. From the fire building to putting the ingredients together, they were showing such care for these younger Chippies. Eventually I went over to say hi and check things out…they were happy as could be making campfire ice cream cones (picture lots of chocolate and caramel melted into an ice cream cone over the fire with whipped cream on top…yum!). This was just another moment- one of hundreds or more that happen here daily- in which campers take an interest in one another and demonstrate great kindness.
And that’s the story from #TheRanch2026 where Everything Matters. Thanks for reading- enjoy your night and I’ll write you all again tomorrow!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
