What Else Happened Today?!
-The Bond Falls trip returned this morning and campers were excited to tell us all about it. Olivia G, Caroline M and Morgan K ran up to me straight from the vans to let me know that it was the best trip ever. Eden M also gave the trip excellent reviews…she loved it! They swam, cooked dinner over the campfire, roasted marshmallows, went for a hike and saw a beautiful waterfall. A huge success, and definitely an experience that had a positive impact on all of these campers!
-We had mostly regular activities today and they were fantastic. The morning ran just as planned with campers loving life at their activities. And then this afternoon, the rain began to fall, but that didn’t stop us! I was amazed as campers skied, sailed and kayaked in the rain…happy as could be and proud that they weren’t letting the rain impede on their fun. By fifth period, the rain was coming down hard enough that we had to resort to indoor cabin activities. Cabins practiced lip syncs, had jacks tournaments and card tournaments. It was actually a really sweet ending to the day. While most campers were in their cabins, we had a visit in the office from Kedzie Z begging Jen to run 5th period cooking…she and her friends just didn’t want to miss it. Given that cooking with Jen is an indoor activity, she opened it up and they had the opportunity to bake delicious brownies…and yes, they brought some to the office, so I can attest to just how good they were! -And then, just like that…after our BBQ dinner, the rain subsided. It cleared up just in time for us to head to Camp Menominee for our annual color run. We all wore white t-shirts and ran through the field at Menominee as colored powder was thrown around. Campers and staff alike frolicked along as they got covered in all sorts of colors. It was a ton of fun and the Chippies were excited to see their brothers, cousins and friends…it was so lovely!
That was our day at #TheRanch2025…I told you it was good! A quick shout-out to my sister Rachel for coming to visit for the day. We had a great time being at camp together and she even got an afternoon ski in…just like old times…it was wonderful! Okay, thank you all for reading…have a lovely evening!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
