Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Another day at #TheRanch2025 has come and gone, and it was a spectacular one! As I sit here in the office reflecting on the fun that was had, the challenges that were overcome and the bonds that were strengthened, my bucket feels full. Today was another reminder that what we are doing here is joyful, and it is often silly, but it is also important for the growth of our camp community…it is so special and I love it! So anyways, here’s what happened today…

Meals
-Breakfast: Waffles, Turkey Sausage & Hashbrown Patties
-Lunch: Turkey Club Croissants and Sweet Potato Fries
-Dinner: BBQ Dinner!

Activity Achievements
-Josie K and Harper F got up and around the lake on two skis!
-Alexia C and Emma A crossed the wakes on two skis!
-Maisy B lifted a ski for ten seconds!

What Else Happened Today?!
-It was another beautiful day in the Northwoods…from sunrise until golden hour on the lake, we enjoyed Chippewa in all of it’s glory! The lake was bumping with ski boats, sail boats, the pontoon boat for fishing, kayaks and SUP boards. Sailboats glided across Dam Lake, and there were a couple of exciting capsizing incidents throughout the day. The new SUP boards were used for some major paddling, which was great to see. And on land, activities were alive and well! At the Chippy Ropes Course, campers were going down the TruBlue and trying to land in the very special yellow folding chair. It was quite a site to see!

-Just before lunch, A-Frame, Bowed Legs and C-C returned from Copper Falls. It was amazing to hear how much fun they had sleeping in tents, hiking and swimming in the beautiful Copper Falls Lake. No doubt, this trip was a great unifying experience for these girls…this will surely be a memory that has an “impact” when they look back on their summer at CRC.

-And then right after lunch, Timber Walk and Horseshoe headed out for their camping trip- they were going canoeing. Our intelligence tells us that the canoe portion went really well and they are now asleep in their tents after making and then devouring s’mores under the stars. We got a report from one of the counselors with a direct quote from Logan W…”This is the best camping trip ever!” I am excited to see these Chippies tomorrow to hear all about the fun they had!

-This evening was amazing! We gathered in the Little Theater to see a truly unbelievable magic show put on by the David Gichner. David has been coming to Chippewa for over ten years- first as a family camper, then as a brother of campers, and now as a magician. He puts on a show that is entertaining and literally leaves our jaws on the ground. How he pulls off the magic tricks he does is mind blowing and the Chippewa campers and staff were astounded!

-To end the night, I spent a little bit of time with Lakeview. They are in the process of putting the finishing touches on their 4th of July plans and I was excited to take a tour of what they have completed so far. They have been working extremely hard over the last two weeks, and we are so excited to see how it all comes together on Friday. As a pre-thank you, we surprised them with McDonald’s…basically the greatest food a 15 year-old could ask for while at camp :). It was fun to hang with them for a bit and continue the hype leading up to their big day!

That’s all folks…another magical day (literally and figuratively) at 8258 County O. Thanks for reading- talk to y’all soon!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
