What Else Happened Today?!
-This morning, we enjoyed some amazing A Day activities. It was cold outside but that didn’t stop us. Plenty of campers chose to go in the lake (which they said felt really good) and others were around camp enjoying land activities galore! At basketball, Jayanna H and Kenzie C were queens of the court in two rounds of Dribble Knockout. They then had an intense relay race- Team “Rafter^X” consisted of Penelope Z, Poppy D and Jayanna H and they narrowly beat Team “The Chosen” comprised of Liv L, Lela J and Kenzie C. According to Lainey, everyone had a blast and improved their dribbling skills big time.
-This afternoon we got hit by a bit of rain so we pivoted to an amazing Rainy Day Activity. Cabins created a group talent show act, and they were quite creative! We only do Talent Show as an evening program once per summer, so this was a great opportunity for second session campers to get in on the Talent Show action. The cabin of Boots rallied around Cora P who put on a comedy act (always incredible). And the cabin of Rafter^X serenaded the crowd…it was quite impressive. Circle C had multiple acts with Joss R doing advertisements in between each. They ended the performance with “Today is yours to shape,” which is a quote I share with the camp daily…obviously I loved that!
-Tonight was Pirate Night…always a fan favorite. Cabins dressed up in their assigned color, tried to solve the scavenger hunt and collected colored flags hidden around camp all while trying to avoid the Pirates. It was intense and it was fun…pirate music was playing all over camp and camper screams and giggles could be heard everywhere I went. When all the points were counted up- there are points assigned to each colored flag and to the buried treasure- Trailriders prevailed as the victors. To celebrate the night full of pirate spirit, the pirates jumped in the lake pretty much just to entertain the campers…it was quite a sight to see!
There you have it- a truly wonderful day spent on Dam Lake. Campers are loving life at CRC and the impact of each day is real…we are living it up! Thanks for reading…talk to y’all soon!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
