What Else Happened Today?!
-B-Day activities were like woah today! In cooking they made chocolate chip cookies that looked like they could have been sold at a bakery…campers were raving about them! And at climbing, the zipline was open for business…campers were flying across the field! But the major action was at the waterfront. It was a hot day and campers were thrilled to jump in the lake. Everybody enjoyed the waterslide at swimming, the kayaks were zooming around the lake, the sailboats were catching some good wind, and at SUP, there was fun being had!
-Tonight was Lip Sync…the evening program so many look forward to. During Rest Period, cabins were practicing intensely- putting the final touches on their performances. I stopped by the South Field and got a preview of Wagon Ridge’s…it was soooo cute! And after BBQ tonight, campers excitedly put on their costumes and got amped for their moment on stage. I must say that each and every cabin was impressive. There were many different styles and genres but each cabin really put it all out there on Sophie’s Center Stage. Trailrider’s chose “From Now On” and it was outstanding. I have been seeing them practice outside their cabin basically since Visiting Weekend and it paid off! The song is a tear jerker to begin with, but the pure elation that they displayed up on that stage made it even more so. Our guest judges (the 2024 First Year SCs) were overcome with emotion by this performance and I don’t blame them…it was a display of unity and love…TR 2025 is feeling the impact of #TheRanch2025! Another wonderful part of the night was Lakeview…up there on that stage for the final time as campers, they did not one or two but three lip syncs…one was new and the other two were from previous Lip Syncs. They danced their hearts out, and had the time of their lives! In the end Rafter^X and Trailriders won, but as is tradition, Lakeview got to join in their trip to Cathy’s. I had the good fortune of tagging along for this ice cream trip and it was fun & adorable to spend time with our oldest two age groups along with the youngest age group celebrating!
That’s all I’ve got for you tonight. Tomorrow is Sunday…I’ve gotta get some rest to prepare for cheffing it up at breakfast. Thanks for reading- talk to y’all soon!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
