Dearest Chippies,

Greetings from second session CRC! I cannot overstate how thrilled I am to be writing to you once again on this fine Thursday evening after what was a beautiful day in the North Woods. Second session campers have officially settled into camp life, and the vibes around camp have been impeccable. Today was a fantastic day filled with many exciting achievements and experiences. Let’s jump into the details…

There was a bit of a chill in the air this morning, but B-Day activities were in full swing. During first period, Lela J REALLY wanted to SUP, and Sadie M joined her without hesitation. Even though they were the only SUP-pers for the entire morning, the action on other side of Dam Lake made up for it. Down at skiing, Chloe M passed dropping, Cassidy A and Sasha C passed lifting, and Olivia G and Luma W crossed the wakes on two skis. Plus, Edie B and Rose L got up for several seconds on their first ski attempt EVER—and I have no doubt that they will be circling Dam Lake in no time! And believe it or not… that’s not all… because down at fishing, Joyelle H, Poppy M, Liv W, Parker F and Neve F all caught fish. And don’t forget about the pretzels baked in Cooking! Suffice it to say… it was a busy, amazing day!

We ended this fine Thursday with a theatrical and entertaining Murder Mystery program. Following a few days of Chippy Theater, Sari went “missing” after dinner. Campers spent the night taking statements from various suspects including the Garbage Goddesses, Maddy Kashy and Emmie Dubin, who angered Sari with the level of garbage around camp; Lily Zirin, who was offended that she hadn’t been chosen to sing the Star-Spangled Banner yet this summer; Sara Margolis, whose chair Sari stole at lunch today; Julia Nathanson, who wanted to change the play but Sari wouldn’t let her; and Ro-Buish, who wanted to make every day a free swim day at Swimming (but again, Sari wouldn’t let her). This was all, of course, in good fun—but campers got into the theater of it all. Jayanna H and Penelope Z of Rafter^X questioned me about my alibi for several minutes even though I wasn’t even a suspect! And the program ended with a police car coming to pick up the culprit… drumroll, please… Maddy Kashy! Based on the smiles and laughter around camp tonight, it’s safe to say the program was a success!

That’s all I’ve got for you this evening. Long story short: it was a good one. Dare I say, a REALLY good one. And while the last thing I want to do is wish away time, I look forward to joining you all back on this screen next week. Talk to you then!

Sincerely,
Soph Aloaf
