Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

What Else Happened Today?!
-We were fortunate to have yet another complete set of A-Day activities, and we took full advantage of our time building skills, playing games and letting our creative juices flow. At archery, Dylan K & Evelyn M hit 40 golds today…I don’t even know how that is even possible! Over at the HNS, outdoor cooking made cinnamon rolls over the fire…not an easy task to get those just right but I heard they were good! Meanwhile at pottery, plate creations were being made- I’ll have to snap a photo tomorrow to show you all how cool those are turning out.

-At basketball, Lainey let me know that the campers are continuing to flourish and grow into well rounded basketball players. Today, Liv L won shooting knockout for three rounds in a row, and finally in the fourth round, she was ousted by Kenzie C.

-Up on the ropes course, Joss R went tried things out for the first time- she went on the Vs and down the TruBlue…very brave! Amelia E completed the Yellow Chair Challenge and landed it perfectly! And Laney K & Emma S rocked it out as Instructors’ Aides in the class. Great job all around!

-While all of this was happening, the Sailing Team hosted the annual Chippewa Sailing Regatta. We were joined by both Camp Kawaga and Camp Menominee. Campers sailed with friends (old and new) from the other camps and raced around the lake. A fun time was had by all- we love this tradition, and per usual, it looked beautiful with the additional sailboats zooming around Dam Lake.

-As is my new ritual, I sat on the Daisy between third and fourth periods. The highlight today was observing the oldest campers in Colt Village take the youngest campers from Colt Village under their wings. Naomi M, Harper M and Sydney Z sailing with Liv M and Millie W showing them the ropes…helping them get to the boat, on the boat, rig the boat and enjoy sailing. It was super-cute and soooooo sweet! I have no doubt that today’s sailing period had an impact on both the olders and youngers in this situation…the olders certainly felt a sense of responsibility and the youngers got to learn from these awesome role models!

-Today was Letter Writing Day, as it is each Monday and Thursday. And as is tradition on letter writing day, it was also canteen! Each Monday and Thursday, at the end of dinner every cabin sends one representative from their cabin to participate in a Rock, Paper Scissors Tournament. We create two lines, and when campers get to the front of the line, they state their name and cabin before dueling against another cabin representative. There’s a little bit of schtick involved, but basically the winner’s cabin gets to go to canteen while the camper that doesn’t win goes to the back of the line. It is entertaining, and a fun distraction while campers are eagerly awaiting their chance to run to the Hirschy Bar for canteen. It was a spirited version of this tonight- campers were very intense! -Finally, to end this magnificent day, we had a Chippewa + Marimeta Collab- Marimeta joined us at #TheRanch2025 for a party with Vibe Entertainment! Campers were excited to see their Marimeta friends, dance hard with DJ Arianna, deck themselves out in neon, and of course, win a t-shirt!

There you have it, ladies & gentlemen…we are just so lucky to be living this Chippewa life! Thanks for reading- talk to you soon!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
