Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

-Lunch: Grilled Cheese, Tater Tots & Tomato Soup
-Dinner: Tacos & S’mores Bars!

Activity Achievements
-Logan K crossed the wakes on two skis!
-Rachel L lifted a ski for ten seconds!

Lost Teeth
-Payton E from Wagon Ridge lost a tooth!

What Else Happened Today?!
-The morning began with our very first Seven Wonders Quiz of the session. There were a lot of participants who were very motivated to answer Cliff’s trivia questions in an effort to win prizes for their cabin. Nothing huge to report on that front, but people around here are excited for their next SWQ opportunity!

-Throughout the morning we had activity rotations. Campers went tubing & skiing, played pickle & tennis, took swim tests, tried out for the Chippy musical and had some SUP time. By the way, this summer’s musical is (drum roll, please)….FROZEN! Campers are hyped for it- we have over fifty campers in the play…a huge turnout from Colt Village through Wrangler. Ana will be played by Laney K and Elsa by Liv K…they are joined by an amazing cast with some incredible Chippy theater directors!

-After lunch, we gathered around the Center Fire Circle for the big Tan & White reveal for all new campers. They bit into a cupcake to reveal their red or white frosting, and their team for life! Additionally, the White Team elected a new Hunter Sachem- congrats to Avery J!!

-This afternoon we continued with cabin activities- enjoying Dam Lake and other areas around camp. While some cabins were participating in activities, others were rotating through sign-ups…creating their schedule for the next two weeks. Campers are pumped to begin activities tomorrow- we are all ready to jump into regularly scheduled programming!

-At dinner we had a spirited Tan & White cheer session to prepare for the big T&W game tonight…Sandstorm! Sandstorm is one of those weird and amazing Chippewa games that is our traditional first game of second session. The concept of the game is that the team must work together to get a huge pile of sand from the South end of camp to the North. There are some twists and turns along the way but the Braves work together passing bowls of sand across the South Field. The Hunters use cups to get the sand from the South Field to the Health Center. Once there, the Warriors use tennis cannisters to pass the sand to the ski area. And finally, the Chiefs use pillow cases to relay the sand to the North Field. Once there, the Grand & Chief Sachems haul the sand bowl load by bowl load to a pulley scale that they must weigh down with their sand. Tonight was quite exciting- the Tans started in the North Field just a few minutes before the Whites, but the White Team ended up catching up. And then, with the whole camp cheering on their Sachems, the Whites weighed their pulley down first…the Tans finished just behind them…only twenty seconds later! It was a great night to be a Chippy…it was fun and it was thrilling!

That’s about all from #TheRanch2025 for today. As I mentioned above- we can’t wait for activities to officially begin tomorrow…camp will really feel like camp at that point. Today was certainly one full of impact and love…the camp bonds are forming and we are ready for what lies ahead! Thanks for reading- talk to y’all soon!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
