Dearest Chippies,

Greetings from CRC! While I would love nothing more than to start this post with a the sun was shining bright, today is unfortunately not that day. Nevertheless, it WAS a wonderful day here at Chippewa. It was crisp and a bit rainy most of the day, but the less-than-ideal weather didn’t dull our enjoyment a single bit. Some highlights include Rafter^X excitedly jumping into the lake at the start of their swim period (some of the only swimmers all day!), Mia R getting her 6th gold in Archery, quesadillas for lunch, Marlee A’s birthday, a vibrant Tan & White cheering session, and canteen to celebrate Letter Writing Day. Trailriders also returned from their Mackinac Island trip with matching sweatshirts and stories galore. I mean… talk about a good day!

We closed out this fine Thursday with a Tan & White favorite… Skit Night! Both teams showed up with their best. Braves celebrated Chippy values in commercials for White Noise and deTANgler, Hunters sang thoughtful and entertaining songs, Warriors made impressive cheers, and the Chiefs made us laugh with their creative skits. There was lots of spirit, giggles and cheering emanating from The Little Theater this evening, and while both teams put on impressive performances, the Tans ultimately took the W!

And now, campers and counselors alike are fast asleep, gearing up for another day in paradise. Tomorrow is Camper Counselor Day, which means that campers from Lakeview, Trailriders, A-Frame, Bowed Legs and C-C will have the chance to step into the role of a counselor for the day. It is always a fun and silly day at Chippewa—for those who switch places and for the campers who get to have camper counselors for the day. I am looking forward to reliving my Lakeview days as I spend the day as Summer K. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Sari Diaries from “Sari,” which is sure to be a good one!

That’s all for now. Talk to you next Thursday—when hopefully the sun will be shining bright!

Sincerely,
Soph Aloaf
