What Else Happened Today?!
-There was some excitement around camp at activities- the blob and water trampoline were officially opened and campers were zooming down the zipline all day long. Campers were excited to get back into their A-Day activities- the fun was legit!
-The CRC Experience, a program for prospective campers, kicked off today and it was adorable. Naturally, it was very sweet to see these youngsters experience Chippewa for the first time. But maybe even sweeter was witnessing our campers and staff welcome these kids into our community. We had 19 campers between the ages of 13 and 15 act as camp big sisters for the program…they took time out of their day to really bring The CRC Experience campers into the Chippewa world. They showed them around, had dinner with them, helped them get ready for the carnival and hung with them at the carnival…it was beautiful to see, and undoubtly super impactful on the impression and vibe that their little sisters got from their time at CRC.
-Speaking of the carnival- we had an outrageously fun and Chippical carnival this evening. Campers dressed up in theme with their cabins, they played games in the South Field, had their faces painted, portraits drawn and danced how they felt. There were tickets won and prizes available, but the real impact of tonight was the togetherness!
So yeah- another extraordinary day at Chippewa. But the crazy part is that it wasn’t out of the ordinary- we had “regular activities” and a pretty standard (for us) evening program, but there was still a feeling of amazingness (and warmth) felt all day and night long!
Thanks for reading tonight…there’s a chance tomorrow will bring a podcast, so be sure to check back!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
