Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Happy Monday to all of you! I hope you had a great weekend, and that you are looking forward to the week ahead. Our week is already off to an incredible start and I am eager to tell you all about it. So here it goes…

Meals
-Breakfast: Sunday Morning Breakfast (on a Monday)!
-Lunch: Picnic Lunch
-Dinner: Tacos

Activity Achievements
-Sloane B from Rafter^X caught her very first Dam Lake fish!

What Else Happened Today?!
-As Cliff, Lisa, Sophie, Ruth and I walked into the lodge this morning to begin cooking at 8am, there was a long line at the front door. Campers were very excited to get in line for their first pancakes, omelets and scrambles of the summer. It has become somewhat of a thing at Chippewa for Colt Village campers to wake up early to savor all of the deliciousness of a typical Sunday morning at CRC.

-After breakfast, we had a Fudd’s Challenge- a “super cabin clean-up” if you will. Cabins are always super motivated to get their cabins sparkling for this extra special cleaning event. I had the privilege of handing out rags, toilet paper and garbage liners in the office while this was happening, and campers were quite excited about the prospect of winning a cabin trip to Fudd’s if they were named the cleanest cabin in their villages. Congrats to C-C and Blackfoot Trail on earning the honor today!

-This afternoon we cooled off by jumping in the lake. Each cabin got to take a dip either before or after lunch and everybody was thrilled…we needed it!

-The afternoon continue with Picture Day! We took an all-camp photo, cabin photos, the second generation photo and the third generation photo. It is amazing how many second generation Chippies are currently at camp, and pretty insane that we have eight campers whose grandmother’s attended CRC! We always talk about the Chippewa Family, and today we got to see that being a Chippy is a real life family tradition for so many!

-The afternoon ended with fifth Period A Day. Campers and staff were happy to jump back into activities- to horseback ride, cook, waterski and more. As fifth period was ending, I had the great fortune of running into Sadie L from Rafter^X who shared with me a story that she had written and illustrated in her journal. It was all about Chippewa, and I loved getting to hear Sadie read me the story of Chippewa through her eyes. After only one week at camp, this place and the people here seem to have really had an impact on Sadie!

-And finally, for tonight’s evening program, we hosted Camp Menominee for a luau. The South Field was transformed with decorations and games…there was something fun for everyone! It was fun to see campers catching up with their brothers, cousins and friends who attend Menominee…it is always sweet to see the reunions :).

So that’s about all for today…it was another spectacular day at #TheRanch2025. Thanks for reading!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
