Staff Spotlight- December 2025

Our December Staff Spotlight features Ruby Higgs-Ward! Ruby spent her first summer at CRC in 2025 and she dove right in- making Chippewa her home and helping campers feel safe, happy and included. Ruby has a warm and enthusiastic presence, and fun follows wherever she goes. We love having Ruby as a part of the CRC community and we are thrilled that she will be back for the summer of 2026! Read below to learn a bit more about Ruby’s camp experience and life in the off-season.

How many summers have you been at camp?
1 year.

What cabin were you in during the summer of 2025?
Blackfoot! The best cabin ever!!

What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
Making endless memories with my campers and co-counselors.

What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2025?
Watching my campers learn their Lip Sync dance and seeing every other cabin’s performance. And the 4th of July!

How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
We are all in a group chat and message and Facetime regularly!

What do you do when you are not at camp?
I like do lots of baking!

What are you most excited about for the summer of 2026?
Seeing my campers again and making even better memories!
