Staff Spotlight- January 2025

Our January Staff Spotlight features Jillian Wernick! Jillian brings lots of enthusiasm and Chippy spirit to the camp environment. She genuinely cares about each and every person at Chippewa, and she is committed to making camp a meaningful experience for everyone around her. Jillian transitioned seamlessly into the role of a counselor in 2024 and we are thrilled to have her back as a part of our staff team for the summer of 2025! Thanks for all you bring to the CRC community, Jillian! Read below to learn a bit more about Jillian’s camp experiences and life in the off-season.

How many summers have you been at camp?
2025 will be my 7th summer.

What cabin were you in during the summer of 2024?
I was in Cactus.

What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
Connecting with all my campers!

What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2024?
I loved watching and performing Songfest this year because my age group worked so hard on it.

What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
My Trailriders summer camping trip to Mackinac Island! The whole trip was so much fun.

How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
If they live near enough to me, I love making plans every once in awhile to catch up. Otherwise, through Facetiming and messaging!

What do you do when you are not at camp?
I am a junior in high school and I love to play lacrosse.

What are you most excited about for the summer of 2025?
Being back at camp with all my camp friends and being a first year junior counselor!

Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
I love camp so so much and I am looking forward to summer!!!
