Details of the Day
This morning, after a decent enough cabin clean-up, the cabin of Lakeview headed off on their two night camping trip while the rest of the camp got into their A Day activities. At Arts & Crafts campers tie dyed and over on the ropes course, campers were gliding across the obstacles. I’d like to give a rose to Laney K and Alexa R who IA’d in first period ropes with a ton of Colt Village campers- Alexa & Laney were so encouraging and supportive of the younger Chippies in their high ropes course endeavors…it was an excellent display of Chippewa Sisterhood. Meanwhile at SUP, we got a funny report from Remi R and Winnie K…apparently they drifted into some lily pads somewhere on the lake and they had to get rescued…it was quite entertaining to hear their explanation of the details. And at skiing, Shay C and Olivia G got a shoutout from Waterfront Director, Cara Jones- she said, “These two are awesome! They were freezing but loved every second and did so well!”

And then tonight, after a delicious BBQ dinner, we had Pirate Night! Cabins dressed in their designated color and scampered around camp to both search for the buried treasure and to find pirate flags…all while avoiding the pirates who were roaming camp trying to “capture” them. In order to remain safe, counselors encircled their campers in their arms. There were excited screams and screeches all night- the energy around CRC was high and campers (and staff) had a blast! As I was walking around, Rafter^X was showing the pirates their muscles and cheering, “We’re not scared!” In the end, the cabin of Timber Walk found the treasure, the rainbow flag (worth the most points) was discovered by Trailriders and when all the points were added up, the cabin of Boots won Pirate Night 2024! As a prize, the Admin Team will do cabin clean-up for them at some point throughout the session.

So there you have it- our day on Dam Lake was another good one. I think it is safe to say that everybody is exhausted from this full day of action…after goodnights this evening, it seems like campers and staff alike are happy to be hitting the hay! Thanks for reading…Goodnight Chippies!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
