Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It is good to be back to The Sari Diaries after a couple day hiatus. I hope you all enjoyed the Happy Camping & Love podcast from Sunday night, and Dylan’s blog post last night (I was quite impressed with her rendition of TSD!). Today was a gloomy and chilly day at #TheRanch2024 but that did not stop us from having our fun. It turned out to be a great one full of laughter and grittiness. Here are the details…

Meals: -Pancakes & Bacon for Breakfast -Chili and Baked Potatoes for Lunch -Taco Tuesday for Dinner & S’mores Bars for Dessert

Birthday: Holly Jonas’s 22nd Birthday!

Special Guest: Rachel Hirsch…my sister!

Details of the Day:
This morning it was a bit too rainy to do regular activities, so we had a rainy day program! There were two elements…first the Second Year JCs taught the entire camp one of their lip syncs. It is to the song “Remember” by Becky Hill and David Guetta. We are very excited for the whole camp to know the same dance…it will be perfect for Chippy Dance Parties, socials and who knows when else…we will be ready to Flash Mob any time and any where! The second part of the morning was loud speaker trivia. We are lucky enough to have our very own trivia guru, Luke Bailey. Luke creates his own trivia categories, questions and answer sheets. He MC’d the trivia from the office incorporating music and some humor into the all-camp game. Campers loved it, and the three winning cabins (Blackfoot, A-Frame and Cactus) have won themselves a cabin portrait drawn by Lisa, Sophie and myself…I know, how lucky are they?!

This afternoon we made it through regular activities, and honestly, I was impressed with all the action going on despite the weather. Down at swimming, Camille T, Tatum G and Joss R were happily relaxing with swim noodles in Dam Lake. And at archery, there was a pretty exceptional event…Rachel L hit a gold…but not on her target- on the target next to hers! We have never seen that here at CRC…quite a unique feat :). And at skiing, Maya F and Maisy B got up and around the lake on two skis, India N & Viv L lifted a ski for ten seconds, Jillian C dropped a ski and crossed the wakes on one ski and Noa G got up and around the lake on one ski. It was an incredible afternoon!

To end our day, we had Cabin Night! Cabins all across camp enjoyed some time together doing all sorts of activities. Boots & Cactus had a “Cookie War,” which was extremely spirited. Charli R, Coco L, Mackenzie K & Ivy S were the big winners- they won braids by Ro-Buish! Circle C had an intense top vs bottom bunk card tournament. A-Frame had a detective challenge in which they broke up into groups to solve a mystery. Rafter^X headed over to the HNS for an adventure. Everywhere we turned, campers and counselors were enjoying one another’s company, strengthening their cabin bonds and having fun…the giggles were alive and well! I can tell you with certainty that the Chippewa Sisterhood is thriving and tonight connected us all even tighter!

So that was our wonderful day at CRC! We can’t wait for another one tomorrow…the weather is supposed to cooperate with us and we are excited for a full day of Chippiness! Goodnight, Chippies!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
