The Sari Diaries- Monday 7/29/24

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Happy Realm Eve! It has been a lovely day at #TheRanch2024…I mean how could it not be with all the excitement that is building in the air and on our grounds. Here are the details of our incredible day…

Meals:
-Breakfast- Scrambled Eggs, Biscuits and Turkey Sausage
-Lunch- Picnic!
-Dinner- Sweet & Sour Chicken

Chippy Birthdays:
-Schuyler C’s 8th birthday!
-Olivia R’s 14th birthday!

Skiing Achievements:
-Mari W & Logan K got up and around the lake on two skis!
-Savannah Z crossed the wakes on two skis!
-Viv L dropped a ski and stayed up on one ski for ten seconds!
-Jill M crossed the wakes on one ski!

Details of the Day:
We squeezed in another day of regular activities and they were fabulous! After second period, we learned our Chippy Madness teams…everyone is very amped for Thursday! And then following lunch we signed up for our Chippy Madness activities. Campers and staff alike were buzzing about the new activities Lauren and Camryn are implementing- Chippy Chopped and Baggo!

Obviously the main event today was Realm Eve…Selection Monday! After dinner, campers and staff gathered in the theater. When I say the energy was palpable, I am underexaggerating…it was nuts! Before anything began, there were camper-led cheers all about how much they love Realm. Campers who have never even experienced this uniquely outrageously amazing program were screaming at the top of their lungs in anticipation. And then it happened- the lights went out, the music came on and the hype video began. There were interviews, there was special footage and there were mysterious scenes throughout this five minute video. Campers were going wild as they watched on the edge of their seats. When the video ended, the fog came out from under the screen and the announcing of Realm Season 8: Burn selections began. Tan & White Braves learned what house they would be in, Hunters were announced as Spies and Warriors & Chiefs learned which army they would be fighting for. You would have thought we were announcing lottery winners based on the thrilling screams that were circulating the theater. It was fun, it was hot and the hype was emanating out of the pores of the Chippewa Sisterhood.

And now, everybody is back in their cabins with the exception of the Realm Dev Team…they are putting the final touches on Chippendel (Main Street) and ensuring that every last detail is thought through. The CRC community is in for a real treat over the course of the next two days.
