Details of the Day:
This morning began in probably the best way possible. I met eight members of Rafter^X at the lake for a Polar Plunge. We jumped in (shout-out to Cassidy A who jumped in first with me) and then we hung on the splashmat for a bit. We took some time to look out at the lake and take in the beauty of our view. It was really pretty incredible!

As we were getting out of the lake, the morning announcements began and I headed into Tom’s Office to wish Jordie and Lindsay a very happy birthday. It’s not too often that I am a part of a birthday wake-up, so I was excited to take part this morning. It was very sweet to listen to all of the birthday wishes being shared over the loudspeaker…lots of love going over those airwaves!

After a delicious breakfast and an excellent cabin clean-up, we had regular morning activities. And let me tell you, we rocked these activities! I had the good fortune of hanging at the Chippy High Ropes Course during second period. Throughout the hour-long activity period, I got to watch fifteen or so campers go across the cargo net, up the v’s and down the TruBlue. It was sooooo much fun to be a part of the class, and to hear the support that the campers were showing one another.

While I was working in the office later in the morning, Charlotte H & Yael S stopped by out of breath and excited. They let us know that while they were running on the Ed Kohler trail, they saw a fox (who they named Alfredo), two chipmunks, a black squirrel, a deer. They were quite excited by this nature sighting!

In other activity news, Ellie A is an official member of the Gold Club! And at cooking, they made chocolate donut holes…rumor has it, they were very tasty! In pottery, they were making animals- and they got quite creative…there was a bear with a fish in its mouth, a bunch of turtles and other cute little creatures. Emma Goldberg was teaching Compass Point Hangout where Tyler T and Harriet M bonded while chilling by the lake. And to end fifth period, I had the great privilege of being on a ski boat with Maddie J, Annabelle K, lifeguard Emily Morgan and boat driver Camryn Farbman. We had a grand old time as we cheered on Annabelle who is working towards dropping a ski and getting around the lake. She is getting soooooo close!

And finally, we had our Friday Night Campfire! The theme was Advice from a Tree and it was led by Braelyn S. Readers included Sadie S, Amelia R, Raquel W, Amelia E, Mari W, Laney K, Lexi N, Em B, Maddie S, Chloe W, Ruthie L, Annie S, Justine S, Marion G and Sydney C. We had two incredible camper sermonettes by Julia E and Ava L. And there were a number of excellent musical performances- the CR-Singers sang two songs and Rachel L sang “A Million Dreams” while Cliff played the guitar. The Keylog Ceremony was outstanding- a highlight for me was hearing the Rafter^X campers expressing their gratitude from this past week so articulately.

This day capped off by this night was rejuvenating! While camp itself seems to go at the speed of light, this Friday was the perfect reset…there was fun, there was excitement, there were celebrations…but there was also reflecting, appreciating, singing, and being. On this day, our Chippewa Sisterhood was once again strengthened in so many ways- both on individual levels and as a whole community. Today we were once again reminded how fortunate we are to be at #TheRanch2024…just so lucky!

That’s all I’ve got for tonight…thanks for reading! Goodnight, Chippies!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
