Dearest Chippies,

Happy Thursday! Soph Aloaf here to report on an incredible day at CRC. Today was my favorite kind of day—a “regular” day. Nothing special in terms of programming, but stellar vibes all around. The sun was out, the smiles were BIG, the laughs were loud… it was proof that even typical days are magical!

All day long, campers across camp were having the time of their lives. Skiing in particular seemed to be a hot spot for achievements: Skylar C and Ava M lifted, Maddie B dropped, and Paige E crossed the wakes on two skis. Over on the other side of camp, butterscotch blondies were baked in the Cooking Academy, tote bags were decorated in Arts & Crafts, and many, MANY golds were shot in archery. If that doesn’t scream excitement, I don’t know what does!

In between all of those achievements and activities, we had many other exciting elements to the day. After second period, the entire camp gathered at the Center Fire Circle for UN Day captain announcements. UN Day is a day when the entire camp is split up into four teams, each represented by a country in the UN. Each team is led by a Colt Village and Wrangler Village captain—each nominated by their counselors due to their leadership potential and enthusiastic participation in camp programming. Congratulations to this year’s Colt Village captains Ellie C, Annabelle K, Reese L and Harper L, as well as this year’s Wrangler Village captains Bryna C, Annabelle K, Olivia S and Braelyn S. We can’t wait to watch them lead an incredible day of spirit, sportsmanship and fun!

Let’s see what else… after lunch, we took our first session all-camp photo. Chippewa shirts took over the South Field as campers were meticulously placed so everyone’s smiling faces could be documented in this piece of CRC history. Immediately following the photo, Blackfoot and Silverspurs departed for Clear Lake and Boots, Cactus and Horseshoe departed for part one of their canoe trip. It sounds like they are all having a blast, and we can’t wait for the full report when they return to camp tomorrow morning!

We wrapped up this incredible day with an AMAZING sports night. The camp was split into three teams—pink, green and blue—who all showed up and showed out with their athleticism and sportsmanship. It was an intense display of kickball, tennis, basketball and nucomb skills. Luke and Josh announced highlights in real time, which added an exciting element to the evening. It was a campy, no-frills program that ended up being campers’ favorite night of the session so far. A big shout out to the staff coaches and referees whose energy and enthusiasm made this night a grand success!

And there you have it, friends. Another action-packed day filled with amazingness. Camp is flying by and it’s hard to translate the good vibes and positive energy onto this page. But trust me when I say that life here at CRC is GOOD… can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Thanks, and talk to ya next week!

Sincerely,
Soph Aloaf
