How many summers have you been at camp?
2025 will be my ninth summer at camp.
What cabin were you in during the summer of 2024?
In 2024, I was a counselor in Bowed Legs.
What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
My favorite part of being a counselor is bonding with my campers and co-counselors. I get to make friends with people from all age groups while continuing to create fun memories with my age group.
What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2024?
My favorite memory from this past summer was Counselor Hunt. My age group all got matching grass monster costumes to camouflage ourselves in the woods. All of us spent the months leading up to camp thinking of the best hiding places. We had a competition to see who would be found last. Running around camp in that costume with all my friends was to me the epitome of what camp is: a place to be whoever you want to be, even if it is a grass monster!
What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
I have so many favorite camp memories it is hard to choose just one. A small moment that really stands out to me and sticks with me three years is later is after Chippy Awards my Lakeview summer. My age group had a Chippy Dance Party late at night while cleaning out the theater. We turned on all the disco lights and were in there for an hour singing our hearts out and jumping around. It was so special to be able to all be together and be as crazy as we wanted in our last days as campers.
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
My camp friends I and text every day, go to hot yoga together every week, and hang out on weekends. Last month, we all took a trip to Ohio to surprise Ro-Buish for her 18th birthday!
What do you do when you are not at camp?
When I’m not at camp, I do theater at Highland Park High School. I am currently directing STUNTS, and I am super excited to be playing Paulette in Legally Blonde this February!
What are you most excited about for the summer of 2025?
I’m most looking forward to celebrating my friends’ ten years all summer long!
Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
I love my Chippy family and can’t wait to reunite in summer 2025!
