Our October Camper Spotlight features Teddy L! Teddy is a dedicated Chippy whose love of camp shines through in all that she does. Teddy is thoughtful, enthusiastic and caring- with Chippewa running through her veins as a second generation Chippy! Teddy makes the most of everything Chippewa has to offer and we absolutely love seeing her smiling face around camp each summer! You’re the best, Teddy! Read below to learn more about Teddy’s love of CRC and her life in the off-season.
What cabin were you in during the summer of 2024?
I was in Copper Stripes.
How many summers have you been at camp?
2025 will be my 5th summer (it would be my 6th, but… COVID).
What do you love most about camp?
Everything! I love meeting people from all around the world, creating special bonds, and all the activities.
What is your favorite memory from the summer of 2024?
I have soooo many memories it’s hard to pick one, but the last night of camp this past summer was so much fun. We stargazed and danced and sang till the wee hours of the morning, soaking up our time together.
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
I try to call and FaceTime as much as I can. Also, I’m lucky that my parents are originally from Chicago (I live in Denver) so we try to visit a few times each year! I wish I lived closer, but I cherish any time I get to be with the summer sisters.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2025?
Everything! Tan & White (specifically Realm) and much more! I also hope to get up and around on one ski in 2025! And of course hanging with my camp besties and cousin that I don’t get to be with all year.
What is your favorite subject in school?
Probably Spanish. I love learning a new language and challenging myself!
What activities do you participate in during the year?
I dance competitively for Mile High Dance Center. This year, I am doing 5 team dances and 1 duet with Chloe Z! Additionally, this year our studio is participating in a charity event called Rhythm and Runway. The studio is going to host a benefit show that will help raise money for an important charity called Dancers Against Cancer. It helps give funds to dancers, dance teachers and choreographers that are fighting cancer. I am so happy that I will be able to give back doing what I love most- dancing. On the rare weekend, I don’t have dance, my family tries to go to the mountains to snowboard.
Is there anytihng else you want to share with your Chippy family?
Chippewa holds a very special place in my heart. It is my home away from home and I feel so fortunate to get to spend my summers there. I love that I also share the special connection to my mom who is a former Chippy herself. It’s so fun finding her name in the cabins :). And shockingly, I actually welcome the much needed break from technology. I get to be myself, free of judgment with my best friends. I am counting down the days to summer 2025!
