Our January Staff Spotlight features Lila Katz! Lila is a dedicated Chippy who is invested in the camp experience of those around her. She is fun, thoughtful and silly, and she gives 100% to everyone and everything at camp. Lila is someone whose love of and commitment to CRC shines through in all she does, and we are lucky to have her as a part of the Chippewa community. We can’t wait to celebrate her 10 Year in 2024! Read below to learn a bit more about Lila’s camp experiences and life in the off-season.

1. How many summers have you been at camp?
Summer 2024 will be my 10th summer at camp!

2. What cabin were you in during the summer of 2023?
I was in Boots during the summer of 2023!

3. What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
My CIT summer, it was all of my campers first summer at Chippewa and I got to share my love for camp with them! My favorite part of being a counselor has been watching them grow into independent and strong girls who put a smile on my face every day!

4. What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2023?
My favorite memory from the summer of 2023 was being a Tan and White neutral because it was a new and engaging experience that enhanced my summer and it was so amazing to oversee this popular program that is special to CRC!

5. What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
My favorite camp memory of all time has been the person I have become because of Chippewa. I am the best version of myself at camp and one of my goals is to eventually adapt the level of comfort I have at camp to who I am year round.

6. How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
During the year, I stay in touch with my camp friends by calling them on the way to class or FaceTiming them to catch up! When we are able to, we make plans to spend time with each other!

7. What are you most excited about for the summer of 2024?
I am looking forward to spending time with my age group because we have seen each other a lot less since being at college than we usually do! I am also excited to continue having the opportunity to watch my campers flourish and enhance their experience at camp!

9. What do you do when you are not at camp?
I am currently a freshman at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and joined a sorority this Fall! I have spent my time making new friends and becoming comfortable with a new lifestyle! I love to exercise, travel and spend time with my fam!

10. Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
Chippewa is the best place on Earth and I highly recommend!
