Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

I first want to apologize- I teased a podcast last night but as it turns out, it will have to wait until tomorrow…with the excitement of Songfest looming tomorrow, things got away from me. And quite honestly, I think a day-of Songfest pod will be exciting…so stay tuned! As for today, it was fantastic and here’s what happened…

To start the day, we had a lovely morning wake-up. Today there were four birthdays and I had the great privilege of doing the birthday portion of the wake-up to honor Riley S, Ellie N, Ellie A and Majo A. To be honest, it was a little bit nerve-wracking…to time the Sims music just right, to say the exact words that Cliff says each and every morning, and to lead the “rousing rendition of happy birthday” was not as easy as you might think. But the campers said it all went well and that we did the birthday wake-up just right…phew!

After an excellent cabin clean-up (shout-out to A-Frame and Bowed Legs for earning a 100!), we had morning activities. And for the first time in awhile, we were able to get all five of our daily activities in…uninterrupted by weather or other programming. At skiing Charlie M, Ellie M & Sasha C got up on two skis for ten seconds, Scarlett C lifted a ski for ten seconds and Reagan K, Charlotte H and Emerson M dropped a ski and stayed up on one for ten seconds. And over at archery, the golds kept flowing. Jacklin R hit her 250th gold and Scout K, Jillian W, Jill M, Lily G, Maddie K and Annie F hit their 100th gold and are official members of the gold club.

This afternoon, there were some good pickle games happening. Dylan G and Sage L teamed up against Lauren G and they had a blast. Sage was an excellent teammate for Dylan as she taught her the rules and strategy. Additionally, Sydney B, Destiny M, Evelyn M, Dylan K and Lila S shifted from running and volleyball for a quick match. They rotated around a bit and were loving the pickle life! According the swim staff, Trailriders swimmers were a bit hesitant to get in the lake until Taylor G convinced the crew to jump in for cooling and bonding purposes…they ended up having a blast!

After an evening program of Songfest practice, there were a couple of extra special cabin events. A-Frame celebrated Riley’s birthday while Bowed Legs and Silverspurs had a sweet program connecting the wee campers of Silverspurs with the “big kids” of Bowed Legs. And finally, because they got two perfect scores in cabin clean-up, the Wagon Ridge counselors planned an awesome scavenger hunt for their campers, which ended in canteen! Overall, it was a wonderful night of fun!

That’s all I’ve got for now- I hope you all had a spectacular Wednesday! Thanks for reading, talk soon.

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
