Camper Spotlight- October 2023

Our October Camper Spotlight features Ava Z! Ava is a dedicated Chippy whose love of camp shines through in all that she does. Ava leads with enthusiasm and spirit, and she does her best to spread her love of all things CRC to everyone around her. Ava makes the most of everything Chippewa has to offer, and we absolutely love seeing her smiling face around camp each summer. Thanks for all you bring to the Chippewa community, Ava! What cabin were you in during the summer of 2023?
I was in the cabin of Trailriders.
How many summers have you been at camp?
I have been at camp 5 years.
What do you love most about camp?
I love meeting new people at camp and making connections with people I never thought I would have!
What is your favorite memory from the summer of 2023?
My favorite memory was when Ari with the Vibe came. My whole cabin dressed up and we just danced to music and we’re able to be ourselves having the best times!
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
Once a month we usually have brunch together, but I text and try and call them as much as I can. I really enjoy spending quality time with them back at home.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite school subject is geometry.
What activities do you participate in during the year?
The activities I participate in during the school year is the Warrior Dance Team for Deerfield High School, and dancing outside of school at Off the Ground.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2024?
I’m looking forward to spending the best 8 weeks with the people I love most, and I’m so excited to plan the 4th of July and Chippy Awards!
