Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Things are heating up around here…both literally and metaphorically. Today was a hot one…and tomorrow is slated to be even warmer. Additionally, the excitement surrounding the 4th of July is in full force…everybody is stoked. Tonight’s diaries may be a little bit short, and I apologize in advance. That said, there was plenty of good that happened that I am excited to share. So here to goes…

This morning we had a sleep in that every single human at #TheRanch2021 greatly appreciated. Even the littles who typically wake up early were happy for the extra rest. We have been go-go-go these past couple of days, so a late breakfast was lovely for all :).

After breakfast, things got serious…seriously fun! Trailriders got to go tubing and other age groups participated in sports competitions…nucomb, kickball, softball, basketball and tennis were all a part our active morning. Cabin counselors led spirited games, and campers were excited to play sports…some are real sport lovers and others were just happy to be playing with their age groups. There was some awesome team work, sportsmanship and talent demonstrated all morning long!

This afternoon, we had our second sign-ups of the session. Yes, I know- things are moving too quickly…we are already on the final sign-up of the session. While not signing up, campers got to swim in the lake, go down the slide, and cool off with a water obstacle course in the South Field. It was truly a fab afternoon for all!

And finally, we had a wonderful Tan & White game tonight- Tan & White Lip Sync (also known as TAWLS). The Tans and Whites each split up into six groups. Each group was comprised of younger campers, older campers and medium-aged campers. This night is always one of my favorites…to see the wide range of ages up on stage together is so very cute. The enthusiasm was outrageous and the confidence displayed on stage was fantastic. At the end of one of the performances, Mari W had a solo, and she rocked it. As they were getting off the stage, Robuisha (aka Sammy K), gave Mari a high five and hug to congratulate her on the performance…it was a very sweet sight…and SO CHIPPEWA! While each and every lip sync was wow-worthy, in the end, the White Team won the evening…congratulations to all White Team members- you put on quite a show!

Now, as I sit in the office, I am surrounded by staff who are very excited for tomorrow. I am confident that the day is going to live up to all of the hype. I am looking forward to experiencing the fun the day will bring, and I am also excited to witness the campers and staff have the unreal day that they deserve. Until then, that’s all I got…happy 4th of July!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
