Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We once again have a Monday night Guest Blogger! This week, Ellory F jumped in and wrote an amazing entry (see below). I would like to first thank Ellory for taking the time to write about our day at #TheRanch2021. And before you get to the meat and potatoes of our day, I also want to give a shoutout to the captains (Noa G, Summer K, Rosie H, Emmy B, Reese S, Zoey B, Charlie K and Izzy S) and advisors (Talia Schor, Eliza Mann, Eden Schenk and Skylar Sachs) of today, United Nations Day. They truly led with class, love and an amazingly positive competitive spirit. We appreciate their leadership in making this UN Day truly one of the best ever! Additionally, Noa Friedland and Nicole Lucas did an outstanding job planning and implementing today. They have been working very hard over the course of the last week, and put together a day that the entire Chippewa community loved. THANK YOU, THANK YOU- the two of you are amazing! Today was SO CHIPPEWA and I am very excited for you to read all about it below!

Happy Camping and Love, Sari

PS A quick shoutout to Chloe C who became a member of the Archery Gold Club today!!

Hi! My name is Ellory F and I am a counselor in the Cabin of Rafter-X and it is my seventh summer at camp. I am so excited to tell you about the amazing day we had!

Today was a very special day in Chippy Land. It is called United Nations Day. It is called United Nations day because each team is named after a different country, and each country is a member of the United Nations. UN Day consists of the whole camp being divided into four teams and playing a bunch of games against each other. The winner of the day had the most spirit and won the most games. It is one of my personal favorite days because of all the fun that occurs. Campers get to play games with different age groups which helps them get to know new people! The teams this year were named Bangladesh, Germany, New Zealand, and Denmark. All of the teams did an amazing job and all of the campers could not stop talking about how much fun they had. The winner ended up being New Zealand so they got to enjoy Cathy’s!

One moment of today that really was just the best was the Wrangler Village soccer game. I was on the team of Bangladesh and had the most amazing time. We ended up winning our first game after finding out that we kind of knew how to play soccer. Hope F, Chelsea C, Emmy F., Lindsay A, and I had the best time playing for first and second. We cheered on our team, cartwheeled, and jumped. We may have ended up losing by seven goals, but we all talked about how it was our favorite day of camp we’ve ever had.

Today especially I realized that each camp day is what you make it. That soccer game could have gone completely differently if we had negative attitudes. Each and every camper clearly made the most of the day especially during their activities even if they lost! When I went to walk to my next game each time I heard so many campers talking about how this was the best day of camp they had ever had, even if they were a longtime Chippy.

As I reflect on my time today I am so grateful for the community that Chippewa has created. It allows people to push their boundaries and try new things. This place is so truly special and I’m so lucky to call it my home!
