Our January Camper Spotlight is Julia W! Julia is one of those campers whose energy and love of camp is contagious. She is silly, fun-loving and caring, and is constantly spreading joy and laughter to those around her. It is so clear that Julia does not take a second of her CRC summers for granted, and we are so grateful for all of the compassion and Chippy spirit she brings to the Chippewa community. You rock, Julia! Read below to learn more about Julia’s love for camp and life at home.
What cabin were you in during the summer of 2019?
I was in Bowed Legs.
How many summers have you been at camp?
I have been at camp 6 years (would have been 7 in 2020, but… COVID).
What do you love most about camp?
What I love most about camp is all the relationships that I have created with everyone throughout the years.
What is your favorite memory from the summer of 2019?
My favorite memory was when I went sailing with my friends Ally C and Ava G and we had to keep dumping water out of the boat because the boat was broken and felt like it was going to sink.
What did you do this summer to stay connected to the Chippewa community?
This summer was hard not being at camp, but I made a point to stay in touch with my cabin and have plans with my friends that don’t live in Northbrook. I was in Arizona over the 4th of July, and I had plans with some of my camp friends there!
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
I stay in touch with camp friends by texting and FaceTiming them. I am lucky to have some of my friends in my neighborhood, but also because we go to Arizona a lot, I see my Arizona friends every time I am there.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2021?
I can’t wait for LAKEVIEW 2021!
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school is science.
What activities do you participate in during the year?
I participate in GBN Poms and Orchesis, and I still dance at an outside studio doing Jazz, HH and Ballet.
Is there anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
I love and miss you all and can’t wait for the summer of 2021!
