Camper Spotlight- December 2020

Our December Camper Spotlight is Maddie B! Maddie is a camper who exudes Chippy spirit. Her love of Chippewa is evident in all that she does, and she can always be found sporting lots of CRC gear- summer or not. Maddie is also a camper that personifies Chippewa values. She is kind, inclusive, confident and silly, and we are very lucky to have her as a part of our Chippewa community. Thanks for all you bring to camp, Maddie! What cabin were you in during the summer of 2019?
I was in Rafter^X.
How many summers have you been at camp?
3! Blackfoot, Silverspurs and Rafter^X.
What do you love most about camp?
I love making new friends, trying new things (like waterskiing), having fun experiences and making memories.
What is your favorite memory from the summer of 2019?
Being the Brave Sachem for the White Team. Also on the last day of camp when Rafter^X watched the sunrise together.
What did you do this summer to stay connected to the Chippewa community?
I had Chippy counselors at our backyard camp, which consisted of mostly Chippy girls. I also had a birthday Zoom with my cabin from 2019.
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
We FaceTime, Snapchat and TikTok. I also love hanging out with my local Chippy friends.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2021?
Being in Wrangler Village… and just getting back to camp!
What is your favorite subject in school?
Spanish.
What activities do you participate in during the year?
Dance!
Is there anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
I can’t wait to get back to Dam Lake and into my camp routine. And I am so excited for more camp experiences and to make more friends!
