Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,
How is it July already?! This is the problem with camp- time just goes way to fast. I do realize that feeling like time is flying is much better than feeling as though it is dragging on…but still, I am in disbelief that we are more than halfway through the first session of #TheRanch2018. That said, here we are…and of course, it was another marvelous day in the north woods!
This morning we had our typical Sunday morning breakfast which was delicious. Lakeview campers Ryan S and Ava S helped out in the kitchen and they were awesome! After breakfast, we went straight into sign-ups for the second two weeks of activities. Campers were very happy about their new schedules! Chloe G was in the office telling us how excited she is to try SUP for the first time, and Julia H is looking forward to the challenge of sailing on Dam Lake!
This afternoon we had some great cabin bonding time. A few cabins created spas, others played the Starburst and Lucky Charm game, others practiced their lip sync and some cleaned hard for the Elmer’s (FKA Fudd’s) Challenge. It was a balanced day…cabins had specific agendas to follow but at the same time, it felt more laid back and relaxed…that’s what cabin day is all about!
After our pizza dinner, we split the camp up for movie night. It was originally supposed to be Screen on the Green, but because of a bit of rain this afternoon, we switched to an indoor movie. We utilized the new building, the Staff Retreat and the Main House. Everyone enjoyed their movies along with popcorn, canteen and a drink. Not a bad evening!
Aside from that, there isn’t too much to report. The CITs visited Camp Chi today and had a blast. They toured the camp, learned about their SITs (their version of CITs) and about their program in general. They head to Clearwater Camp tomorrow to do the same. This is such a valuable trip for both the CITs and the camp as a whole. It is very cool to hear their thoughts and observations when they return to CRC. They tend to come back with new ideas or questions and they always arrive back with a greater appreciation for Chippewa.
Okay, it’s time for me to sign off…have a wonderful evening and thanks for reading!
Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
