We are excited to feature Lauren Goldsmith in our September Staff Spotlight. Lauren was a C.I.T. this past summer and was an incredible asset to our staff team. She is enthusiastic about all things Chippewa, and has a truly kind heart. Lauren’s campers adored her and we know that she will continue to be an amazing counselor for years to come. Read below to learn more about Lauren’s camp experience and life outside of camp…
How many summers have you been at camp?
2017 was my 7th summer
What cabin were you in during the summer of 2017?
A-Frame! For the 3rd time! So I’ve 25 weeks living in a triangle :).
What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
I love hanging out with my campers! We love playing mao, having shaving cream fights, and dancing during cabin-up.
What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2017?
My favorite memory of summer 2017 is the Tan rope burn in Egg Marathon. It was incredible how spirited the team was and how quickly the rope burned which resulted in a Tan Team victory!
What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
My favorite camp memory of all time was during our 2nd session Lakeview lip sync we got 3 encores and did all 4 of our lip syncs from LV and TR. It was an awesome way to perform our last lip sync as a cabin.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2018?
I’m most looking forward to another amazing summer at the most magical place in the world with my best friends and campers.
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
We text, Snap Chat, and FaceTime everyday. We also try to hang out as a group at least once a month if not more. Camp friends are the best friends!
What do you do when you are not at camp?
At home I run cross country and track. I am also involved in DECA and Student Council. But most importantly, when I’m not at camp I’m thinking about camp and wishing I was at camp.
Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
Make sure you hang out with your camp friends a lot during these ten months because it makes the off season go a little faster.
