The Sari Diaries- Saturday 7/29/17

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

We definitely had ourselves a day at #TheRanch2017. Spirits were high and the vibes were good- I love days like this! Both campers and staff were full of energy and excited about all that this day brought- from not so regular activities to Songfest prep and then the Horseshoe social, we were busy! I assume you want some more info than that though, so read below to get the full scoop…

We tried something new with activities today- but only for today, don’t worry! Campers had the chance to rank 17 different activities and from those preferences, we gave them a schedule for the day. The cool part was that they had a chance to try an activity just once before sign-ups tomorrow to decide if they really liked it. Outdoor cooking was making a delicious desert called Heaven. At Random House, they were trying to build a megaphone for me in case I lose my voice. In my office, Savannah M and Maya F left me their masterpiece (pictured to the right)…it is awesome! Per usual, at WERQ, campers were enthusiastically dancing while Emily C led the class. And at riding today, they went on trail rides! If you can believe it, there was even more including tubing, snickerdoodles and ziplining. Activities were rocking today!

Before dinner, the Tans and Whites had Songfest practice. Songfest is tomorrow and both teams have been working extremely hard in preparation for the big show. I have no idea what the themes are but I do know that everyone is very excited and enthusiastic about the performance. We cheered at lunch today because tomorrow we will not have a regular meal (because it is Sunday), and the cheering was out of this world…loud and proud is the best way to describe it!

And tonight, we ventured to Camp Horseshoe for a social. We danced and socialized with our friends and family…and don’t worry, we took plenty of pictures! They were wonderful hosts of our FINAL away social of the summer!

So that was our day around here. We enjoyed all that this place has to offer and it is safe to say that we all really appreciated it! While there is still plenty of camping left, I think campers and counselors alike are beginning to realize that in less than two weeks, we will no longer wake up as one big community on Dam Lake. Our days are limited in this amazing summer and we are trying to live it up! Thanks for reading tonight- talk to you tomorrow!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
