The Sari Diaries- Sunday 6/25/17

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Our first week has officially come to a close and it was a good one. The energy around camp is still quite high and I don’t think it is going anywhere anytime soon! It was a very wonderful day here and I am excited to tell you all about it!

This morning was a lazy breakfast with pancakes and eggs to order. There were about eight campers that were at the Adler Lodge front steps beginning at about 7:30 this morning. Keep in mind that we do not begin serving breakfast until 9am :). Cliff, Lisa, Ruth, the Rosen Family and I worked together to make pancakes, omelettes and scrambles for the camp…it was a good time in the kitchen and I am pretty sure the campers and staff enjoyed their meals.

After breakfast, the entire camp loaded onto school buses to head into Minocqua. I always love town day as we politely invade the stores and restaurants. Trailriders went to sushi- their age group tradition for as long as I can remember, Blackfoot enjoyed pizza at Alexanders and Monkey Business was visited by pretty much every single Chippy.

Upon their arrival back at camp, Sammie K and Ivy F invited me to the wedding of Otis and Robisha (their alter-egos). The ceremony took place at the Center Fire Circle with Sophie S officiating the special occasion. It was a multi-age group event with a couple of Timberwalk campers standing up as bridesmaids. The entire Colt Village was in attendance and dressed to the nines! The scene was quite cute and I was honored to receive the invite.

After our pizza dinner made by some awesome staff members, campers got ready for Tan & White Barnyard Bedlam. They dressed in crazy costumes and got amped for the first T&W game at #TheRanch2017. Erasers were spread all across the South Field for Sachems to collect and team members ran around singing and dancing while hovering over the erasers. The spirit was top notch and a good time was had by all.

To end the night, we have had lots and lots of visitors in the office. As I sit here right now, I am surrounded by the first year JCs- they are underrated entertaining. We also had members of Bowed Legs, Horseshoe, Timberwalk, and most of the CITs hanging in here at some point. Some good bonding time at The Office at the Top of The Hill this evening!

Okay, that’s all for now…I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We are looking forward to an amazing week ahead filled with activities, camping trips and evening programs. Have a good night!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
