How many summers have you been at camp?
10 years and counting!
What cabin were you in during the summer of 2016?
Boots and Saddles
What is your favorite part about being a counselor at CRC?
I love being a counselor because I try my hardest to be a role model for my campers. I want to teach them to love camp as much as I do and to truly appreciate every day they spend on Chippewa soil. I also enjoy sharing my love for sailing and swimming with the campers when teaching activities. Being a counselor is the best because you’re friends with everyone regardless of age, and your job is doing something that you love.
What was your favorite memory from the summer of 2016?
My favorite memory would have to be Kahuna Day. It was the best (two) day(s) of the year. I always love Kahuna Day every year, but being in charge of it and seeing everyone with so much enthusiasm and spirit is awesome. Shoutout to #smashley.
What is your favorite camp memory of all time?
This is a hard one. It’s could be the obvious which would be C.I.T. summer winning Songfest as Chief Sachem. Or Bowed Legs summer when Jesse was bringing her water bottles to the cabin on the green wagon and we were going down the hill and she let go of the wagon and it goes flying and so she then proceeds to run after it and then dives for it…it was funny, a had to be there moment for sure. OR Tan and White Lip Sync C.I.T. summer when Sophie and I were in charge of a group together and our song was “Without You” and we just could’t stop smiling the whole time and the Whites winning was obviously a bonus.
What are you most looking forward to in the summer of 2017?
I am most looking forward to hopefully following my cutie campers, spending time with my age group, and being back on Dam Lake. It’s hard not being at camp for ten months, but absence does make the heart grow fonder, so the two months we get are definitely worth the wait.
How do you stay in touch with your camp friends during the year?
We have a group text called “Summer Sixteen” (Drake). We’re always texting and snap chatting things that remind us of camp and each other.
What do you do when you are not at camp?
When I’m not at camp I am thinking about camp while studying business at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Anything else you want to share with your Chippy family?
Camp is the best place on earth, camp friends truly are the best friends, and GO WHITE!
