The Sari Diaries- Monday 8/10/15

Monday, August 10 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It was a beautiful day in the Northwoods and as LoLo Hannaford explained, “It was hoppin’ at #TheRanch2015.” Below are the details of August 10th, 2015…

  1. Activities today were a blast. We only have a couple of activity periods left so our instructors are helping campers accomplish their goals and get that extra ride down the zipline. At the fishing docks, Reese L caught a huge fish (check out the photo above). She was really excited and Luke couldn’t believe the size of it!

  1. Lots of levels were passed in skiing today. Eden S got up on one ski and crossed the wakes on her first try…she is clearly a natural! Molly P got up for the first time on two skis and while she didn’t get completely around the lake, she explained her feeling as “joyful.” That description coming out of a ten year-old’s mouth along with her three friends in the ski boat screaming cheers her way was priceless!

  1. Tonight’s evening program was Lip Sync and the performances did not disappoint. C-C and Silverspurs were the winners of Cathy’s but literally every cabin was amazing. C-C did a mashup to the new Annie soundtrack and Silverspurs choreographed a fantastic dance to Ghostbusters. The cuteness was out of control and the dance party at the end was a wonderful way to end the night!

  1. We held our last staff meeting of the summer this evening and it was uplifting and upsetting all at the same time. It was only upsetting because it was the last meeting but aside from that, there was lots of good stuff! There were tons of Roses given as thank-yous to other staff members and sweet stories of camper interactions were shared. We congratulated the staff on providing the best summer ever to the 2015 campers, and for keeping such a positive vibe throughout the summer. As I have mentioned in previous posts, there just seems to be something awesome in the air this summer and I am certain that the staff are a major reason for this feeling.

So that’s about all for today from CRC. I am currently sitting in the office hanging with a couple of Wagon Ridge, C-C and Lakeview counselors. Everyone is trying to soak up each possible second that we have together at this special place! That said, I do think I need to head to bed! Talk to you all tomorrow- thanks for reading!

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
