The Sari Diaries- Monday 7/27/15

Monday, July 27 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

Both despite and because of the high temperatures today, it was been a wonderful time at #TheRanch2015. Our activities varied and we enjoyed some good sunshine. Here are the highlights…

  1. We had the Timberlane Climbing Competition today which was awesome. They have an incredibly high wall and host a really nice afternoon for us each summer. Sookie D, Ari H, Genna W and Julia F were the Chippewa representatives and they competed in three different events. They had a blast and demonstrated their skills extremely well!

  1. With temps in the high 80s this afternoon, we canceled regular activities and had a much needed open waterfront. Campers were thrilled to go in the water and hang with their friends on Dam Lake. As is always the case during open waterfronts, tubing was extremely popular but campers were excited to play on the blob, the splashmat, on the yellow raft, on sail boats and stand-up paddle boards. It is safe to say that activity was not lacking this afternoon in Chippyland!

  1. It is funny how little things at camp can be so exciting. Screen on the Green is the perfect example of a simple program going a long way. Campers love laying in the South Field with their cabinmates, eating candy & popcorn while watching a movie on the big blow-up screen. It is such a cute scene out there and a great night for the whole camp!

Well, that’s all for now. Sorry to be so short tonight…more details tomorrow :).

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
