The Sari Diaries- Wednesday 6/17/15

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

It has been a truly amazing day here at CRC. From morning till night, we had tons of fun, were very productive and continued to feel the excitement growing for Monday! Here are the highlights…

This morning, staff members met with their co-activity instructors and made some big plans for the summer. Ideas for progression programs were discussed, lesson plans were made and activity areas were prepped. By lunchtime, every activity was up and running!

For the afternoon, each staff member was given a schedule for our Practice and Participation session. Everyone had the opportunity to both practice teaching their activities and also to participate in other activities they were interested in. As I walked around from the Cooking Academy to aerobics and then from tennis to the stables, I had the opportunity to witness just how incredible our staff truly are. They are enthusiastic yet safety-minded and clearly proved that activities are going to be fantastic at #TheRanch2015. I personally got to climb the ropes course and try almost all of the elements. The staff out there made me feel safe and confident…any camper who heads up there this summer is in for a treat!

After dinner, we had the privilege of hosting Chris Thurber in our theater. Chris is a fantastic youth development professional who is a board certified clinical psychologist. In addition to this, he has over forty years of camp experience and has a real talent for connecting with our staff. His presentation entitled, “Mind-Bending Conversations” was wonderful. It was motivating and inspiring for our staff and a great way to end the day!
