The Sari Diaries- Thursday 6/18/15

Wednesday, June 17 by Sari Hirsch

Dearest Chippies,

It feels like just yesterday that I was sitting here at my desk, nervous and unsure of how my Sari Diaries introduction would go over with all of you. If anything, the lightning-fast, fun-filled days since my last post have been a testament to how quickly time flies here at camp. And although I could not be any more excited for the buses to pull into the Circle Drive in just four short sleeps, I simultaneously wish that I could press pause and make the impending summer last forever… If any of you are able to make that happen, PLEASE let me know.

As for pre-camp, today was an exciting day over here at CRC, to say the least. This morning started out just like your normal Chippy summer day— blue skies, eggs and hash browns, followed by cabin cleanup. This afternoon, after a cabin bonding activity, the new staff found out their Tan & White teams and faced off for an exciting game of flag football (which—in case you were wondering—is unequivocally my favorite South Field activity). In the end, the Tans and Whites tied with the score of 21-21. It was a nail-biter, and the display of athletic ability among this group of staff is quite impressive. Even after just one game, it is clear that all new Tans and Whites already feel allegiance to their respective teams.

While you may be thinking that that alone is far too much excitement for one day, it just keeps on getting better! Tonight we have the Fellowship, our annual staff party. It is always a great night… With so many Chippies in one room, how could it not be? I have no doubt that tonight’s event will be filled with the staff pretending we’re good dancers and even better singers, an abundance of snacks, and most importantly some more memories to ensure that #TheRanch2015 truly is the best summer yet.

Man, I love this place.

Well, I think that’s about it. Thanks for tuning in. I wish you all could have been here to share the excitement. I will see some of you this coming Monday, and I will talk to the rest of you next Thursday.

Sincerely,
Soph-Aloaf
