The Sari Diaries- Friday 6/19/15

Friday, June 19 by Sari Hirsch

Dear Chippies, Parents, Family and Friends,

I hope you enjoyed last night’s guest blog entry from Sophie…she is a funny one :). As she predicted, the Fellowship was amazing. The staff danced, sang, ate and bonded throughout the evening and it was quite obvious that this is a fun-spirited group who gets along nicely! After a really special night, we all woke up enthused today and ready to go. It was action packed and we were lucky enough to have some wonderful weather. Here are the details…

This morning, some of our lifeguards had an inservice to refresh their skills. While that was happening, others were busy preparing various areas of camp and camp is truly looking good! This afternoon was full of health and safety meetings that were extremely informative and helpful to the staff. The content of these meetings is essential to the well-being of our campers and we feel incredibly lucky to have a group of counselors who take this so seriously. The questions asked and comments made demonstrated the thoughtfulness and genuine care of this crew!

Following a somewhat heavy day, we had our annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. There were 32 teams and we had a single elimination bracket. It was a ton of fun for all…some of our staff have some real basketball skill and others tried their best and enjoyed running around. The winners of the tourney were Hannah, Azeb and Duncan. They were quite the power-house and played like a real team!

I think those are the major highlights from today. It was awesome and we are looking forward to the final full day of pre-camp tomorrow. Pretty crazy that in less than 72 hours, #TheRanch2015 will be officially ready for the campers to arrive. We are super excited and counting down the minutes! Thanks for reading and goodnight.

Happy Camping and Love,
Sari
